Zoom Q8n-4K Handy Video Recorder

The Zoom Q8n-4K is a portable powerhouse for content creators, indie filmmakers and musicians who refuse to compromise on quality. This compact handheld recorder packs 4K video capture at 30 fps alongside four-channel audio recording, making it ideal for everything from music performances to documentary-style shoots.

Video performance starts with a wide-angle 150 lens and f/2.8 aperture that delivers striking visuals in diverse lighting conditions. Five field-of-view settings let you frame shots your way, whilst five scene presets (Indoor, Outdoor, Nighttime, Concert, and Auto) ensure your footage looks polished whether you’re capturing a sunlit outdoor event or a mood-lit venue. The flip-out 2-inch colour LCD lets you compose selfie-style recordings and monitor your shot before you roll.

On the audio side, the Q8n-4K excels. The built-in X/Y stereo condenser mic delivers true stereo imaging without extra cables, and it’s swappable for other Zoom capsules including the VRH-8 for immersive 360 recordings. Dual XLR mic/line inputs with phantom power accept professional microphones or mixer outputs, whilst comprehensive audio controls–gain, panning, volume, low-cut filtering, compressor, limiter, leveller, de-esser and noise gate–give you studio-grade processing on the fly. Record pristine WAV files up to 24-bit, 96 kHz resolution, or separate audio from video for standalone four-channel recording.

Storage and connectivity won’t hold you back. MicroSDXC support up to 512GB means you’ll capture hours of content, and USB functionality lets the Q8n-4K double as a webcam or audio interface for streaming and podcast work. Optional app-based remote control (via separately available Bluetooth adapter) adds flexibility for unattended recording. Battery options include the included rechargeable Li-ion pack, USB power, or an optional AC adapter for extended shoots.

A 1/4″-20 tripod mount on the base integrates with your existing rig, and the 3.5mm headphone jack keeps you monitoring audio quality in real time. Whether you’re run-and-gun shooting or setting up for a formal session, the Q8n-4K adapts to your workflow.
