The Sigma AF 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary is a wide-angle prime lens built specifically for APS-C-format mirrorless cameras with a Fujifilm X Mount, delivering a 24mm equivalent focal length. Its exceptionally bright f/1.4 maximum aperture makes it highly capable in low-light situations and provides fine control over depth of field for creative selective-focus photography. The optical formula consists of 16 elements in 13 groups, incorporating three FLD glass elements, two SLD glass elements, and two precision-polished aspherical elements to minimise chromatic aberration, distortion, and coma flare, producing sharp, high-contrast images from edge to edge even at wide-open aperture. A Super Multi-Layer Coating on individual elements further suppresses flare and ghosting for strong colour fidelity in challenging lighting.

Designed with mirrorless shooters in mind, the lens features a stepping AF motor that delivers fast, precise, and near-silent autofocus, making it equally well suited to video work and stills photography. Sigma has optimised the AF algorithms specifically for Fujifilm’s high-speed AF system, including full AF-C support for tracking moving subjects. The rounded nine-blade diaphragm produces smooth, pleasing bokeh, while a rubber seal on the lens mount provides dust and splash resistance for confident outdoor use. Despite its impressive optical performance, the lens remains compact and lightweight at just 405g and 92.6mm in length, balancing comfortably on Fujifilm X-series camera bodies.
