Formatt Hitech 62mm Firecrest Neutral Density 1.5 Filter (5 Stops)

The Formatt Hitech Firecrest Neutral Density 1.5 (5-Stop) Filter is a high-quality circular ND filter designed for photographers and filmmakers who need precise light control without compromising colour accuracy or image quality. Using Formatt Hitechs advanced Firecrest carbon metallic coating, this filter delivers truly neutral results, avoiding the colour casts often associated with dyed resin ND filters.

Manufactured from Schott Superwite optical glass, the Firecrest ND 1.5 offers excellent clarity, contrast, and consistency, making it a dependable choice for both stills and video work.

Balanced Light Reduction with True Colour Accuracy

Providing 5 stops of light reduction, the ND 1.5 filter is ideal for slowing shutter speeds or using wider apertures in bright conditions. It allows for creative motion blur in water and clouds, smoother cinematic video, and greater depth-of-field control, all while maintaining natural colours and accurate white balance.

The Firecrest coating ensures even light reduction across the visible spectrum, preserving fine detail and tonal balance.

Designed for Challenging Shooting Conditions

Firecrest filters are engineered to perform reliably outdoors and in difficult lighting:

• Hydrophobic coating repels water, oil, and dirt

• Anti-reflective coating minimises internal reflections

• Exceptional flare resistance maintains contrast and clarity

• Improved visual acuity for sharper, cleaner images

These features make the filter particularly well suited to landscape, seascape, architecture, and outdoor video applications.

SuperSlim, Stackable Construction

Mounted in a 5.5mm SuperSlim aluminium ring, this filter helps reduce the risk of vignetting, even on wide-angle lenses. The slim profile remains fully stackable, allowing it to be used alongside other filters when required. The precision-machined ring ensures a secure fit on any lens with a 62mm filter thread.
