The Panasonic Lumix G 20mm f/1.7 II ASPH. is a compact pancake-style prime lens designed for the Micro Four Thirds system, offering a 40mm equivalent focal length that sits comfortably in the wide-to-normal range. Its ultraslim profile just 25.5mm thick and weighing only 87g makes it one of the most portable interchangeable lenses available, while its durable metal body and metal mount give it a premium, refined feel. The bright f/1.7 maximum aperture excels in low-light conditions and provides excellent control over depth of field, making it a highly versatile choice for street photography, travel, portraiture, and everyday shooting.

Optically, the lens features seven elements in five groups, including two aspherical elements that effectively minimise distortion and chromatic aberration for impressive corner-to-corner sharpness. Multi-coated lens elements further suppress ghosting and flare in challenging lighting situations. A seven-blade rounded aperture diaphragm produces smooth, attractive bokeh in out-of-focus areas, while the built-in contrast-detection autofocus system compatible with Panasonic’s Face Recognition technology ensures fast, precise, and reliable focusing performance across a wide range of shooting scenarios.
