Sony FE 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G OSS Lens

Overview

The Sony FE 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G OSS Lens offers a broad range of telephoto focal lengths, combining excellent optics with robust image stabilization and fast autofocus. This versatile zoom lens is well-suited for capturing sports, wildlife, and distant subjects, while also being portable enough for general photography and event shooting.

Key Features

G Lens Series Optics

• Advanced Glass Elements: Two extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements reduce chromatic aberrations and colour fringing, enhancing clarity and colour neutrality.
• Aspherical Elements: Four aspherical elements minimise astigmatism, field curvature, coma, and other monochromatic aberrations, contributing to sharp, accurate images.
• Nano AR Coating: Applied to reduce surface reflections, flare, and ghosting, this coating improves contrast and colour rendering, even in strong lighting conditions.
• Pleasing Bokeh: The rounded nine-blade diaphragm creates smooth, attractive bokeh, enhancing selective focus effects.

Image Stabilisation, Autofocus, and Handling

• Optical SteadyShot: In-built image stabilization reduces the impact of camera shake, allowing for sharper images at slower shutter speeds. This system can be combined with a camera’s sensor-shift stabilization for enhanced control of camera blur.
• Linear Autofocus Motor: Provides quick, precise, and quiet autofocus, making it suitable for both still photography and video recording. The internal focus design ensures accurate and silent operation.
• Focus Range Limiter: Enables faster focusing performance for moving subjects by limiting the focusing range.
• Customizable Focus Hold Button: Offers intuitive control and rapid access to select settings.
• Minimum Focus Distance: At 3 feet (0.9 meters), the lens provides a maximum magnification of 0.31x, making it versatile for both close-up and distant subjects.

Construction and Durability

• Dust and Moisture Resistance: The lens is designed to withstand challenging conditions, with a dust- and moisture-sealed construction and rubberized control rings for better handling in adverse weather and colder temperatures.
• Compact and Portable: Despite its telephoto range, the lens is designed for ease of use and portability, making it a practical choice for a variety of shooting scenarios.
